Tomorrow is the big day!!! I am attending the LTD365 conference for entrepreneurial women, hosted by Nada Jones, the woman featured in the above video. LTD365 stands for: Live The Dream Everyday. LTD is "the resource for women launching or growing their dream business and their dream life . . . because isn't that what its really all about?"
I am attending the conference for several reasons. The #1 reason being that I am an academic who loves to be educated, connected, and inspired. Growing up, academics was a big part of my life. So much so, that I spent my highschool years at a boarding school in Newport, Rhode Island. I love to learn. I love to be surrounded by people that are fueled by knowledge.
Reason #2: Before becoming a wife and mom, I had the privilege of managing several large beauty industry companies. I learned very valuable skills and lessons through these experiences. Now it is my time to apply all of this knowledge to my own dream business and life. And I have some big ideas and goals for Vintage is for Lovers.
Lastly, when I saw the panel of women that are attending this conference, my eyes lit up! I feel like a little girl about to go to Disneyland to meet all of the Princesses. The Princesses of the LTD conference are: Ali Brown, "the voice for women in business and success." Named by Forbes.com as the "#1 woman for entrepreneurs to follow;" and owner of a multi-million dollar enterprise, Ali International. Jen Boulden, the woman at the heart of the green business revolution. Her company Ideal Bite, which sends out one smart and sassy green tip a day, took off, and half a million subscribers later, it was bought by The Walt Disney Company in 2008. "Through her media platform she raised awareness about things like the stupidity of bottled water, eating bison if you need to have a burger, and wearing vintage clothing for the hottest “green” look around."
I will be having breakfast, in a social media breakout group, with Anne Sage, of Rue Magazine and the ever popular blog The City Sage. And her friend, Crystal Gentilello, founder and Editor in Chief of Rue Magazine, and the wonderful blog Plush Palate. I will be having lunch, in a product based business breakout group, with the amazing Joy Cho of Oh Joy, and Deborah Luster, who helped start Annie's Homegrown, Inc. I am so looking forward to meeting and getting to know all of the these and the many other inspiring women at LTD365!
And just so you know, my Loves, I take amazing notes! I look forward to sharing all the information, insight, and inspiration I receive tomorrow with you in the coming days.
Now, I just need to decide on what to wear? Ahhhhh!! And I so need a haircut, manicure, a little waxing, and anything else that would help this Mama look at least somewhat put together. Oh! How times have changed . . . (but I wouldn't change them for the world!)
Wish me luck! xoxo
