Mrs. Peacock

I think nicknames are such wonderful terms of endearment. When I lived in Florida, my girlfriends and I were sitting around one evening, and we decided to pick which animal best described each of us. I was the peacock; and ever since then, Mrs. Peacock has been my nickname with my girlfriend Miss (soon to be Mrs.) Mermaid. My husband Loves to call me Mrs. Peacock too. (But I have a feeling it means something far different to him! hahaha)

"Mrs. Peacock" has led to a Love for anything that symbolizes a peacock. I am drawn to images, colors, fabrics, and art that are inspired by the beauty of the peacock. It has become quite an obsession, or should I say collection!?

 "Chinese Lanter, Persimmon, and Peacock"
By, Rachel Uchizono

This painting is my favorite in our collection. I won this magnificant oil painting in an auction at the Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach. Rachel Uchizono is a featured artist at the Festival every summer. I have admired her paintings for years; and have always dreamed of owning one. It was really quite serendipidious how I actually "won" this painting. Lets just say, it was meant to be. Don't you just Love when that happens? Rachel was inspired by her own peacock and her garden in the creation of this beautiful piece of art.

I found this treasure at the Long Beach Antique and Flea Market. It is a peacock made out of beautiful seashells. I was with friends when I found this piece; and I think one of them still has ringing in her ears after the screams I let out when I first laid eyes on her!

I am in Love with these peacock chairs that I found on The Decorista this morning. I can't wait to go looking for one this weekend at the flea market.

My husband and I eloped in marriage 4 months after meeting each other. I never had the opportunity to wear a wedding dress but when we renew our vows in a couple of years, I think I should wear this number!? It seems so fitting!?

I would Love a taxidermy peacock; but "one that passed naturally of course!"

Love a Bohemian Peacock!
