Merry Go Round

Recently I was invited by a wonderful group of creatives to join their 'Merry Go Round;' where each month, a group of craftswomen from around the world come together and give their own responses to the same question or art challenge on their blog, and then share the Love. How cool! And I am incredibly honored that they would invite me to "play" with them, considering I am hardly on the same artistic skill level as these women! In any case, I hope you enjoy; and maybe you will be inspired to jump on the 'Merry Go Round' too!?

Question: What are your top 5 favorite tools that you use in your art/craft?

In case you did not know, I am in the process of creating a home wares line inspired by my Love of vintage textiles. I cannot tell you how excited I am to share it with you, in the very, very near future. Therefore, my response to this question applies directly to the creation of my first collection of vintage inspired home wares.

Top 5 Favorite Tools

1. Vintage Fabrics
I am continually on the search for vintage textiles; particularly patchwork quilts that have been hand sewn together using hundreds for different fabrics of color and pattern, and created with an inspiration of Love.

2. Inspiration Board
One of my favorite things about being a part of the blog world is all of the inspiration I come across on a daily basis. My mind explodes with all of the imagery of beauty and ideas. The images allow my creativity to flow in ways that I did could not have dreamed or imagined. I display these images on a  sound board, as a constant and ever changing reminder of who I am and what I want to create.

3. Books
I love to read and be educated.

4. Farm Table
I Love to lay everything out on one big table. I am a visual person that enjoys the freedom of space.

5. My Hands
Lets be honest. If you are not willing to get 'dirty,' try new things, and get into your art, you will limit your creativity. I Love the idea of being hands on, in all aspects of life.

*I Love jumping on the Merry Go Round. If you would like to see what all of the other lovely ladies chose as their top 5, please visit their respective blogs! I promise you will enjoy the "ride."
