Scenes from The Meditation Garden

On Saturday, we cruised down the beautiful Southern California coast, to Encinitas. We visited the beautiful Mediation Garden at the Self-Realization Fellowship Retreat and Hermitage. The center was founded in 1937 by Paramahansa Yogananda; "a world leader who brought India's ancient science of meditation to the West in 1920. Sri Yogananda dedicated his life to uniting East and West in the lasting ties of spiritual understanding, and to helping others toward realization of the limitless resources of love and peace the exist within every human being." {what a beautiful message}

  4. I loved reading that you were there. A friend of mine from Echo Park is really feeling the strain of living in Los Angeles with a one year old...I've been trying to pry her out of there for a year. Finally talked her into Encinitas and after visiting last week they are IN. YIPPEEE!!

    She described it as tranquil. Maybe I need to move there, too.

  7. How beautiful. I could definitely use a weekend at a meditation center. Actually, a little meditative retreat sounds awfully good -- I'll need to look into that. You always inspire me, Sam. I'm so glad you had a gorgeous weekend.
