I have discovered a new love: Glass Fishing Floats. They are magical, vintage treasures from the sea. Dating back to the 1840s, glass fishing floats were once used by fishermen, in many parts of the world, to keep their nets afloat. Originally handmade by glass blowers, many of them were also made from recycled glass. Although they have not been used since the 1950s, many of these beautiful glass bubbles still float freely in our oceans.

Many have found themselves washed up on the shores of our beaches; and if you are lucky enough, you can find these beautiful treasures today. Can you imagine walking along the beach and discovering a pile, like the one above!? {be still my heart}
